There is never any harm in going to online classified ads as well. Here you should find people selling off their old carpets at very low prices. It may be difficult for you to determine whether or not the carpet is of high quality and you may need to live locally in order to be able to go and inspect the carpet or pick it up for purchase. A simple solution will also be to try to find local flooring stores that are going out of business. Unfortunately many of these stores will go out of business every single year and will sell off their merchandise at largely discounted prices in order to recoup some of their losses. This presents you with an opportunity to find a bargain. At the same time you could just go shopping when sales on. Look for carpeting stores that are running sales and have a browse around when their prices drop.
As any skilled interior decorator will repeat time and time again, the general color of any newly installed carpet must match the rest of the room. Because of this, it is generally best to install the carpet first and then purchase furniture in the aftermath. Because basements are often a bit dank and dark, however, people may want to choose a carpet color that is more uplifting. Red, orange, and yellow should all work, although these colors may have to be tempered a bit with lighter walls and ceilings. Those families who prefer Earth tones might choose blue, green, or brown.
